Opportunity at a Glance

The Project Manager is a part of Becker’s Finance and Operations team and reports to Becker’s Director of Operations.  The Project Manager performs project management duties of multiple projects and implementation activities throughout Becker Professional Education. 


The Project Manager is required to have strong communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, and have the ability to make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. 


The Project Manager will work closely with various cross-functional groups within Becker including Product Management, Marketing, IT, Customer Service and Operations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of solutions in support of business goals and objectives and drive completion of strategic projects and implementation activities.  


  • Develops and manages project plans, which include key activities, timelines and resource requirements needed to achieve project objectives and communicate status to team members and project stakeholders
  • Conducts project meetings, captures meeting notes and action items, communicates assignments and expectations to project team members and tracks completion of project deliverables to ensure quality and integrity of all project-related products
  • Utilizes project information repositories to maintain the quality of all project documents/data to ensure the integrity of a project
  • Identifies and addresses project obstacles ensuring appropriate resolution. 
  • Makes effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.
  • Provides input into how to use resources more effectively and coordinates/negotiates any staffing changes with managers.
  • Coaches project team members in support of achieving the project objectives and provides feedback to the project team members as appropriate
  • Works closely with cross-functional groups involved to ensure smooth implementation and commercial launch
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • BS/BA degree required
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of full lifecycle project management experience including knowledge of PMBOK or other equivalent project management methodology, practices and tools desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Microsoft Project, SmartSheets and Visio a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and determine effective business and alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage and advance multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Experience in an academic enterprise is definitely a plus.
